Successes - Join the REALTOR® Party Reach MN-RPAC

You can belong to the REALTOR® Party by participating in RPAC!

What is RPAC?

RPAC is a political action committee whose membership consists of REALTORS® interested in actively and effectively protecting the real estate industry and the dream of homeownership by participating in government affairs at the local, state and federal levels.

What does RPAC do for your business and clients?

RPAC is the muscle of REALTORS®. RPAC represents politically active REALTORS® that elected officials want as their friends. Because of the combined strength of our members who contribute through RPAC, REALTORS® have achieved many legislative and regulatory successes including:

  • National: The continued preservation of the mortgage interest deduction; Passing the $8,000 First-Time Homebuyer Tax Credit to stimulate the real estate market
  • State: Protecting the state mortgage interest deduction; stopping a state deed tax and recording fee increase; protection REALTORS® from additional fees
  • Local: Minimizing the impact of home inspection requirements, vacant and rental property regulations

Why should I support RPAC?

When REALTORS® join together, they have a very powerful voice that is heard loud and clear. The REALTORS® Political Action Committee exists solely to further issues important to REALTORS®. It's the only political action committee that is organized by REALTORS® to promote and protect the dream of homeownership in America. RPAC works every day on behalf of REALTORS® so that you can practice real estate with the assurance that someone is fighting for you and the real estate industry.

Contributions from LLCs (on LLC checks or using an LLC credit card) are not acceptable by MN-RPAC and will be allocated 100% to National RPAC. Contributions are not deductible for income tax purposes. Contributions to RPAC are voluntary and are used for political purposes. You may contribute more or less than the suggested amount. You may refuse to contribute without reprisal, and the National Association of REALTORS® or any of its state associations or local associations will not favor or disfavor any member because of the amount contributed. Of each contribution, 70% is used by your state PAC to support state and local political candidates. Until your state PAC reaches its RPAC goal, 30% is sent to National RPAC to support federal candidates and is charged against your limits under 2 U.S.C. 441a. After the state PAC reaches its RPAC goal it may elect to retain your entire contribution for use in supporting state and local candidates. Chris Galler, Treasurer cgaller@mnrealtor.com.
